Authorised Economic Operator (AEO)

The Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status can be obtained by an economic operator that satisfies the criteria outlined in national and EU customs legislation. AEO certification is similar to ISO 28000 in terms of operational competence, but it is more difficult to apply since the State Administration Chamber conducts more in-depth audits compared to private accreditation bodies.

DIERA Agencja Celna Sp. z o.o. [Customs Agency] has obtained AEO authorisation, and is thus regarded by customs authorities as a trustworthy and reliable economic operator. This status is recognized in all member states of the European Union.

Legal compliance, good record-keeping standards, financial solvency, professional qualifications or practical standards of competence, and appropriate security and safety standards are some of the criteria used when evaluating an economic operator’s application. See Article 39 of the Union Customs Code for more details.

As an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO), we are entitled to a variety of benefits, including faster and easier admittance to customs simplifications, fewer physical and document-based controls, the ability to choose a place for control with prior notification, and an immense number of other indirect benefits and entitlements. Details are available on the Ministry of Finance's website.
